My love for natural ingredients goes back to my childhood years in Montreal, where spending time with my loving Grandmother was a blissful space in time. She taught me all about "Fresh being Best" and natural being a way to "Nurture with Nature". These messages stayed with me.
Teen years were a discovery time of experimenting with beautifying concoctions. My egg white face mask was a big hit! While the honey and mayonnaise hair mask was a near miss. This is around the time that I started to understand the concept of Pure and Simple.
In adulthood my sensitive and reactive skin, diagnosed as rosacea (subtype 2), influenced me to incorporate more natural ingredients and products into my day-to-day life. As a result, I blossomed into a proficient beauty connoisseur. When I became a mother and my precious children also showed signs of sensitive skin reactions, I turned into a very keen and motivated "label reader". Realizing that many of my family's favourite, personal care brands were made up of questionable and potentially toxic ingredients, my focus transitioned from beauty to holistic skincare and wellness. It was very important to me to learn how the skin and body systems worked along with natural herbs and essential oils.
Formal studies and certifications followed in aromatherapy, aesthetics, herbology and reflexology. With this formal training, I began a Health and Wellness practice dedicated to helping others using natural therapies. Working with my clients, addressing struggles and issues similar to my own, highlighted a need for Pure and Simple - Fresh & Natural personal care products. My resolve to create and produce a line of such products was born - Pure and Simple became Purple.
